Downtown Sandpoint is a charming area brimming with activities. At any time of the year you’ll find locals and visitors alike enjoying all that downtown has to offer: waterfront restaurants, cozy cafes, wine bars and breweries with live music, and galleries showcasing local artists. Movie lovers will enjoy the historic Panida Theater, the community-owned theater which features performing arts and weekly films. Sandpoint is also home to many events, including the two-week music Festival at Sandpoint.
Lake Pend Oreille
At 65 miles long and 1,150 feet deep, Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho’s largest and deepest lake—fifth deepest in the US. With crystal clear water and idyllic forest surroundings, it is definitely one of the most beautiful. Activities on the lake are numerous and include boating, fishing, kayaking, stand up paddling, and swimming.
Schweitzer Resort
Located 20 minutes from SilverWing, Schweitzer is 2,900 skiable acres of amazing terrain thanks to its two massive bowls and renowned tree skiing. From the top of mountain, at 6,400 feet, the stunning views include Canada’s Selkirks, Montana’s Cabinet and Bitterroot Mountain Ranges, as well as Lake Pend Oreille.
Schweitzer is home to some of the best skiing in the Inland Northwest. The 92 named runs range from double-diamond trails to those more approachable by beginners and kids, and for snowboarders, Powder Magazine named it the “best park in the Pacific Northwest.” The resort also offers nearly 20 miles of Nordic trails for cross-country, snowshoeing, and snow biking during the winter season.
Year-round, Schweitzer is always a social hub, hosting numerous concerts and events, such as the
Outrageous Air Show and Fall Fest. During the summer months, Schweitzer is open for many activities, including hiking, mountain biking, ziplining, climbing wall, trampoline jumper, and scenic chairlift rides.
World-Class Golf
North Idaho is home to several world-class golf courses in some of the country’s most amazing scenery. Just a few minutes from SilverWing is The Idaho Club, a stunnning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course along the Pack River.
